Hi and thank you for stopping by and taking a minute to get to know me! My name is Floriana Leary, but I go by Nita, I'm a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and a loving wife (to a meat and potato man) and mother of three great adult children, owner and founder of The Whole You, LLC. I became a health Coach to fulfill my passion, to work with people to improve their health and their family's health. I've been in the "healthcare system" for most of my adult life and noticed that patients left their doctor's office with instructions from losing weight, lowering their A1C levels, to get more sleep and exercise more, but the majority of them get home and don't know how to do this, or they try but fail.
I know this can be very frustrating, I've been there, weighing over 220lbs, knees hurting, arthritis flare ups, 4 hours of interrupted sleep, just to name a few symptoms, leaving me with fogginess, low energy and difficulty to feel happy. I was under the assumption that if you ate "healthy", joined a gym, went on diet that you would lose weight and feel healthier, but that was not working for me.
I turned my life around by joining the holistic community, learning about the influence and interconnection of mind, body and soul and understanding of how off balance I was with this. I decided to learn more in depth regarding holistic health and went back to school enrolling with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC. During this time I realized that not only was the information I was learning giving me the results of better sleep, weight loss, energy and overall happiness, but that I also wanted to share my amazing transformation with others, therefore leaving my career in traditional western healthcare and becoming a Health Coach to help others.
I love working in my organic garden, taking care of my fruit trees and bushes, connecting to nature while feeding off the fruit of the soil that it produces. I'm still learning more about gardening as I always considered having a "brown" thumb and not a green one, but now the connection I'm getting with nature and the grounding benefits that come with it definitely outweighs the dirt I get under my fingernails and earning my green thumb as well.
